Where Does Neverness to Everness Store Config and Progress?

Neverness to Everness keeps progress on its servers. Locally, the PC client writes Unreal config and engine files under LocalAppData\HT.

Last updated

Neverness to Everness is an always-online urban gacha, so there is no local save file to move between machines. Progress, characters, and purchases live on Hotta Studio's servers tied to your Perfect World account. Reinstalling costs you settings, nothing else.

The client still writes to disk. As an Unreal Engine 5 game it keeps config and engine files under %LOCALAPPDATA%\HT, and that folder is worth knowing: community guides point at Engine.ini inside it for the well-known FSR3 override, and clearing the folder is the standard fix when a settings change misbehaves.

Where NTE: Neverness to Everness stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\HT\Saved_Global\Config\Windows

Config and engine ini files, including Engine.ini. Progress never lives here; account data is server side. Guides that force FSR settings edit Engine.ini in this folder and mark it read only. Delete the folder to rebuild defaults.

Linux
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/4508340/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/HT/Saved_Global/Config/Windows

Steam Deck and Linux run the Windows client through Proton for app ID 4508340, so the same HT folder appears inside the prefix.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my Neverness to Everness save file?

There is no local save file. Characters, progress, and purchases are stored server side and tied to your account, so signing in on a new machine restores everything. Local files only cover config and logs.

How do I reset Neverness to Everness settings on PC?

Close the game and move or delete the Windows folder under %LOCALAPPDATA%\HT\Saved_Global\Config, or just delete Engine.ini. The game rebuilds it with defaults on the next launch. Progress is unaffected because it is not in there.

Is it safe to delete the HT folder?

You will lose local settings only: graphics, interface, and any Engine.ini tweaks such as forced FSR options. Account data lives on the servers. Copy the folder first if you want to keep the tweaks, since some are fiddly to redo.
