Where Are Expedition 33 Config Files Located?
Expedition 33 keeps Unreal config files in a Config folder beside its SaveGames tree under Local Sandfall. Engine tweaks go there.

Expedition 33 follows the standard Unreal layout under a Sandfall folder in Local app data. Saves sit in SaveGames with per slot files, and engine settings sit beside them in Config. The Steam build uses a Windows subfolder there; the Game Pass build names it differently but keeps the same parent.
Most players only need this path for two jobs: backing up the whole Sandfall tree, and dropping in a tuned Engine.ini for performance. In game menus still control the basics. Manual edits are for the settings the menus refuse to expose.

Unreal engine settings per build subfolder. Saves live in the sibling SaveGames tree, so back up the whole Sandfall folder to cover both. Game Pass builds use a different build subfolder name.
Frequently asked questions
Can I install graphics optimization presets here?
Yes. Optimization presets from the mod community are Engine.ini files that drop into this folder. Keep only one active at a time and remove the file to revert, since the game regenerates defaults.
How do I reset settings without losing saves?
Delete the Config folder with the game closed and verify files if needed. The game rebuilds defaults on next launch. Your SaveGames sibling folder stays untouched by this.
