Where Does nPlayer Store Videos?

nPlayer keeps local videos in its app container, fed by Wi-Fi upload, iTunes sharing, and network streams.

Last updated

nPlayer stores downloaded and uploaded videos in its own Local tab storage on the device. Wi-Fi upload through HTTP or WebDAV, iTunes file sharing, and direct downloads all land in the same place with folders and playlists you manage in-app.

Its philosophy is to avoid storing at all. SMB, NFS, FTP, WebDAV, DLNA, and cloud drives stream straight from the source, leaving nothing on the device. Use local copies only for travel, and the server copy stays the archive.

In-app Local tab (device storage) + streamed sources

Upload over Wi-Fi by enabling HTTP/WebDAV in the Local tab and opening the shown URL in a desktop browser. iTunes File Sharing works too. Stream from NAS and cloud instead of downloading to save space.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add videos to nPlayer?

Enable Wi-Fi upload in the Local tab and drag files into the browser page, copy them through iTunes File Sharing, or download from a network share inside the app. All three land in Local storage with folder support.

Does nPlayer duplicate videos across devices?

Only if you copy them everywhere. Point each install at the same SMB, WebDAV, or cloud source and stream instead. Local copies suit offline trips, shared sources suit everything else.
