Where Does Opera One Store Your Profile?
Where Opera One keeps its browser profile with bookmarks and logins, and how to confirm the exact path.
Last updated
Opera One uses the standard Chromium layout since version 104. Profile specific files live in a Default subfolder inside the user data root. Shared files stay in the root. Cache sits in a separate Local tree on Windows. Bookmarks, history, logins and preferences accumulate in Default over time, so that folder is the one to copy for backup or migration.
Opera still supports a single profile in the UI, so Default is the folder that matters. The about page prints both paths and beats trusting any guide blindly. Close the browser before copying anything or SQLite files come out half written. Check the Profile and Cache lines in the about view when the folder looks empty, and keep the browser closed until the copy finishes.
Where Opera One stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
User data root with Default profile inside (Bookmarks, History, Login Data, Preferences). Cache sits separately under Local Opera Software. Check opera://about for your exact build.
~/Library/Application Support/com.operasoftware.Opera
Main profile equivalent on Mac. Confirm the exact Cache path through opera://about, since it varies by release channel.
~/.config/opera
Linux data root. Exact Cache location can differ by distro packaging, so confirm through opera://about if the folder looks empty.
Frequently asked questions
How do I confirm my exact Opera One profile path?
Open opera://about and read the Profile and Cache lines. That page shows the exact paths for your install. Use it whenever a guide path does not match your machine.
How do I back up Opera One bookmarks and passwords?
With Opera closed, copy Bookmarks, Login Data and Preferences from the profile folder to a safe place. Passwords only restore on the same OS user account, so history and bookmarks transfer more reliably than logins.
