Where Are Outhold Save Files Located?

Outhold is a Godot game, so saves and settings share %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Outhold on Windows.

Last updated

Outhold runs on Godot, and Godot puts user data in a shared app_userdata tree rather than a folder named after the game at the top level. On Windows that means %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Outhold. On macOS it is ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Outhold.

Settings and saves sit in the same directory, which makes backup simple. Steam Cloud covers the tree, and PCGamingWiki lists about 1.9 MiB of synced data. If you play on both platforms, note that the two paths are separate files, not one shared cloud folder.

Where Outhold stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Outhold

Saves and settings share this folder. Godot nests it under a shared Godot\app_userdata tree, not under a folder named Outhold at the top level.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Outhold

The macOS equivalent of the Windows path. Same Godot app_userdata layout, with saves and settings in one folder.

Frequently asked questions

Where are Outhold saves on PC?

In %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Outhold. The game uses Godot's shared app_userdata folder, so the path has two levels before the game name. Paste that line into the Explorer address bar to open it directly.

Where are Outhold saves on Mac?

In ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Outhold. Use Finder's Go to Folder command, since Library is hidden by default. Type the path with the tilde and Finder expands it to your home folder.

Does Outhold use Steam Cloud?

Yes. Steam Cloud covers the Outhold folder, and PCGamingWiki lists about 1.9 MiB of synced data for the game. That figure covers the whole folder, saves and settings included.

Why is the folder under Godot instead of Outhold?

Godot groups user data by engine first, then by project name. That is why the path starts with Godot\app_userdata and only then names Outhold. The macOS path follows the same pattern under Application Support.
