Where Are Path of Exile 2 Config Files?

Path of Exile 2 keeps local config in Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2 on Windows. Characters and stash are online and are not stored as local save files.

Last updated

Both Steam and standalone clients use Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2 for local INI config. The file poe2_production_Config.ini holds graphics and UI options.

There is no local save file to back up for characters. Progression lives on Grinding Gear Games servers and requires login.

Where Path of Exile 2 stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2\poe2_production_Config.ini

%USERPROFILE% is usually C:\Users\<username>. Steam and standalone installs share this Documents layout. Copy the INI to preserve options.

Windows
<install-folder>\logs\Client.txt

<install-folder> is the game root, such as the Steam common folder or the standalone install folder. Logs hold system info and chat output for troubleshooting.
