Where Are Phoenix Point Save Files Located?

Phoenix Point saves per store with Epic builds splitting between user and LocalData folders.

Last updated

Phoenix Point saves differently per store and even per launch mode. Steam uses a LocalLow tree keyed by user, Epic splits between a user-ID folder and a LocalData fallback, and settings live in the registry on top.

The Epic split is the trap. Launching outside the Epic client writes to LocalData instead of your ID folder, forking progress silently. Check both folders when saves look missing. Steam players have it simpler: one tree, synced through the cloud.

Where Phoenix Point stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Snapshot Games Inc\Phoenix Point\Steam\[UserID]

Campaign progress per Steam user under the Snapshot tree. Copy with the game closed; Steam Cloud syncs the same files.

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Snapshot Games Inc\Phoenix Point\EGS\[UserID]

Epic saves as .zsav files here, or in LocalData when launched outside the client. Check both locations before assuming progress is gone.

Windows
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Snapshot Games Inc\Phoenix Point

Options and engine settings, not progress. Reset freely when troubleshooting graphics.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/com.snapshotgames.phoenixpoint

Same LocalLow layout under Application Support. Profile folders transfer directly between Mac and Windows.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/839770/pfx/

Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 839770). The Snapshot tree appears inside the prefix's virtual LocalAppData.

Frequently asked questions

My Epic saves vanished. Where did they go?

Check both the user-ID folder and LocalData. Offline Epic launches use LocalData while online ones use the ID folder, so progress can sit in either place.
