Where Does Pinchflat Store Config and Downloads?
Pinchflat keeps its database in a mounted config volume with downloads in a separate media volume, on port 8945.
Last updated
Pinchflat splits storage into two host volumes. The config volume holds the database with sources, download rules, and history. The downloads volume holds fetched media for Plex, Jellyfin, or Kodi.
That split guides backups. The config volume is small and critical; the downloads volume is large and replaceable. Keep both on the same host paths the compose file expects, and permissions writable by the container user.
Where Pinchflat stores this, by platform
/host/path/to/config:/config (plus /downloads volume)
Config volume holds the database with sources and rules. Downloads volume holds media. Serve on port 8945. Move means copying both host folders.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Pinchflat to a new server?
Copy the config and downloads host folders to the new machine. Sources, rules, and history live in the config volume. Point the new compose file at the copies and start.
Can Pinchflat config live on a network share?
Prefer local disks for the config volume. Network shares force a slower database journal mode and risk corruption on existing installs. Downloads tolerate shares better than config does.
