Where Does Poezio Store Config and Logs?

Poezio XMPP client config and log folders on Linux for terminal chat accounts and rooms. Plus migration notes.

Last updated

Poezio keeps chat state in ~/.config/poezio with poezio.cfg at its root. That file holds accounts, passwords references, and room bookmarks. Plugins live in a plugins subfolder beside it.

Logs default under logs with one file per contact and room. OTR keys sit in the same tree for encrypted chats. Back up the whole folder to preserve accounts and history. Passwords need the keyring on the new machine. Tabs switch rooms fast. Bookmarks rejoin on start. Themes tweak colors. Corrections edit sent messages.

Where Poezio stores this, by platform

Linux
~/.config/poezio/poezio.cfg
