Where Are Potion Craft Save Files Located?

Potion Craft Steam and GOG save folders under LocalLow, why the folder name changes by store, and where settings hide.

Last updated

Potion Craft is a Unity game, so saves sit in LocalLow rather than Local. Steam builds use a SavesSteam folder and GOG builds use SavesGog, two names for the same layout. Copy the whole version folder, since slots reference shared files inside it.

Settings are the odd part. They live in the Windows registry under the developer key, not in a file beside the saves. Export that key if you want a full backup. Steam Cloud covers saves but not registry settings.

Where Potion Craft stores this, by platform

Windows
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\niceplay games\Potion Craft\SavesSteam

GOG builds use SavesGog in the same parent. Settings live in HKCU\SOFTWARE\niceplay games\Potion Craft in the registry, so file backups alone skip your options.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move a Potion Craft save from Steam to GOG?

Yes. Copy the contents of SavesSteam into SavesGog with the game closed on both ends. Keep a spare copy until the alchemist loads, since cloud sync can overwrite fresh transfers.

Where are Potion Craft settings stored?

In the registry at HKCU\SOFTWARE\niceplay games\Potion Craft. Run regedit, export that key before reinstalling Windows, and merge it back after. Reinstalling the game alone preserves it, wiping Windows does not.
