Where Are Potionomics Save Files Located?

Potionomics scatters saves across three places: AppData, its install folder, and Steam userdata\1874490\remote.

Last updated

Potionomics keeps saves in three locations at once: an AppData folder, SaveSlot files inside its own install directory, and the Steam userdata remote folder. They sync between each other on launch and on save, which makes manual backup confusing.

The userdata remote copy is the master. Players who wrestled with broken saves found that only edits there actually stuck, while the other two copies get overwritten from it. Back up all three, restore through the remote folder, and always save in game last so everything converges.

Where Potionomics stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Potionomics\Saved\SaveGames

Local copy of save data. The live SaveSlot files sit in <SteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\Potionomics\Potionomics\Binaries\Win64, and the master copy is in <SteamLibrary>\userdata\<steamid>\1874490\remote. Back up all three together.

Frequently asked questions

which potionomics save folder actually matters

The userdata remote folder for app 1874490. The game overwrites the other copies from it on launch. Restore backups there, then save once in game so the remaining copies pick it up.

how do i fully wipe potionomics saves

Turn off Steam Cloud, then clear all three locations: AppData Saved, the Win64 SaveSlot files, and userdata 1874490 remote. Missing any one of them resurrects the old run on next launch.

why do my potionomics save edits keep reverting

You edited a secondary copy. The remote userdata folder wins every sync. Apply changes there with the game closed, and check file permissions if the game cannot write at all.
