Where Does ProCamera Save Photos and Video?

ProCamera saves to Camera Roll by default, with private Lightbox folders inside the app for off cloud selects.

Last updated

ProCamera offers three save targets from Settings then General Options then Save Location. Camera Roll is the system default and syncs with iCloud Photos. Lightbox keeps selects inside ProCamera only. Private Lightbox adds Face ID protection for sensitive takes.

Lightbox files never reach iCloud Photo Library or other apps until you export them. That makes it a good culling tray before the Camera Roll. Pick the target with the album selector swipe from the preview thumbnail, and watch for the edge indicator showing the active spot.

Private Lightbox needs ProCamera Up and Face or Touch ID. AirDrop Lightbox files to Mac or export to Camera Roll for cloud backup. Premium adds external USB-C drive recording and ProRes options.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my ProCamera photos missing from Photos?

They went to Lightbox instead of Camera Roll. Open the ProCamera album view, select the Lightbox entries, and export them to Camera Roll. Check the save indicator before long shoots.

Are Private Lightbox photos backed up to iCloud?

No. Lightbox contents stay inside ProCamera on device. Export keepers to Camera Roll or AirDrop them to a Mac for real backups, since deleting the app clears internal folders.
