Where Does PUBG Mobile Keep Your Account and Game Data?

Outfits, UC and rank progress are server-side, tied to linked accounts like Google or Facebook. Local files are maps and cache.

Last updated

PUBG Mobile saves everything meaningful on Tencent's servers. Your UC balance, Royale Pass progress, outfits, gun skins and rank all follow whichever login you bound to the account when you created it, usually Google, Facebook or Twitter, with a few more options in some regions. The phone holds the usual local layer: downloaded maps that arrive with every update, weapon and cosmetic assets, and the session token that keeps you signed in.

Account linking deserves attention before any phone change. An account created as a guest and never linked can vanish with the install, and no folder trick brings it back. Keep in mind too that the global game and the Korean or Chinese builds are separate apps with separate data, so items never travel between them even on one device. Bind an account early, and phone upgrades stop being a gamble.

Where PUBG Mobile stores this, by platform

Android
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.tencent.ig

Global build folder with downloaded maps, cosmetic assets and login state. The Korean release uses com.pubg.krmobile and other regions ship under other packages, each with its own cache. Hidden on Android 11 and later.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents

Per-install container with a GUID that changes after every reinstall, out of reach without a jailbreak. Full backups include it, but the linked account is what restores your inventory.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move my PUBG Mobile account to a new phone?

Link an account first from the settings menu, Google, Facebook or Twitter all work. Install the game on the new device and sign in with the same login. UC, outfits, rank and the Royale Pass all return from the servers.

Does reinstalling PUBG Mobile delete my items?

Not when an account is linked. Everything valuable lives on Tencent's servers, and the fresh install just re-downloads the maps and assets. A never-linked guest account is the only case where a reinstall erases progress, and that is irreversible.

The post-reinstall download is huge. Can I skip part of it?

Maps and core assets are mandatory, but you can trim optional extras. Lower the graphics settings and skip the HD resource downloads in the settings menu. Doing the initial download over Wi-Fi saves your data plan, since it runs into multiple gigabytes.
