Where Does Ranger Store Config and Bookmarks?
Ranger keeps rc.conf, rifle rules and bookmarks in ~/.config/ranger, generated on first run.
Last updated
Ranger generates its default config files into ~/.config/ranger on first launch. The rc.conf controls behavior, rifle.conf decides how files open, and tagged files track selections.
Copying that directory clones the whole setup including bookmarks. The commands.py file holds custom keybindings, which is where most personalization actually lives.
