Where Does Resolume Arena Store Compositions?
Resolume Arena compositions, presets and recordings on Windows and macOS, straight from the official directory list.
Last updated
Resolume splits files between the app folder and your Documents folder. The Documents side is what matters for backup. Compositions, presets, shortcuts, preferences, fixture libraries and recordings each get a subfolder there.
Compositions do not embed video. They remember file locations, so moving media breaks the show until you relink. Logs and thumbnail caches live separately in AppData and Application Support. For a full move, copy Documents plus collected media.
Where Resolume Arena stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Resolume Arena\Compositions
Compositions sit in the Compositions subfolder. Replace Avenue with Arena in older guides. Logs are in AppData Roaming Resolume Arena, thumbnails in AppData Local Resolume Arena.
~/Documents/Resolume Arena/Compositions
Same layout as Windows. Recorded clips land in the Recorded subfolder by default. Registration files live in /Library/Application Support/Resolume Arena, outside the user folder.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move a Resolume show to another computer?
Copy the whole Resolume Arena folder from Documents. That grabs compositions, presets, shortcuts, preferences and interface layouts at once. Media files stay where you left them unless you used Collect Media.
Why does my composition open with missing media?
Use Collect Media from the Media Manager. It copies every used file into a Media folder and rewrites the composition next to it. Compositions alone only store file locations, not video.
