Where Does Revo Uninstaller Store Backups?
Where Revo Uninstaller Pro keeps full registry backups on Windows, and the Daily versus Last folder split.
Last updated
Revo Uninstaller Pro keeps a multi level backup system. Deleted registry entries go to the Backup Manager for selective restore. Full registry backups sit separately under AppData Local in the VS Revo Group tree.
Two subfolders matter. Daily holds one backup per day the app starts. Last holds the backup from the most recent uninstall. The portable build stores the same RegBackup structure inside its own Data folder instead. Review entries in Backup Manager before any restore. Keep portable Data copies on separate media.
Where Revo Uninstaller stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\VS Revo Group\Revo Uninstaller Pro\RegBackup
Daily is per day started, Last is per uninstall. Portable builds keep the same tree under Data/User. Leave these files alone unless a restore is needed.
Frequently asked questions
How do I restore a Revo registry backup?
Use the Backup Manager inside Revo to restore deleted registry items first. Full registry restore is a last resort for machines that no longer boot right. It involves renaming Restore.dat to Restore.bat from recovery command prompt.
Can I turn automatic backups off?
Yes, in Options. Revo can create a restore point and a full registry backup before each uninstall. Daily backups happen once per day when the app starts.
