ShareX stores its considerable configuration in JSON files inside a Documents folder, with captures landing in a Screenshots subfolder unless workflows redirect them.
Portable mode moves the whole tree beside the executable, which many users prefer for synced setups. Either way the JSON files plus captures form the complete backup set.
