Where Does Slumber Store Collections and Config?
Slumber reads collection yml files from project dirs plus global config under home config slumber. Everything checks into git.
Last updated
Slumber inverts the usual client model: collections are plain YAML files you own, typically named slumber.yml in each project. Running the TUI in that folder loads recipes, profiles, and chains from it. Nothing hides in a database.
Global behavior (theme, editor, pager) reads a user config file under the slumber config dir. CLI and TUI share the same collection file. Request history and templates cache beside it. The whole setup suits dotfiles since every file is text. Response history stays local while collections travel through git.
Where Slumber stores this, by platform
/home/<username>/projects/myapi/slumber.yml
Project collection with recipes and profiles. Commit per repo. Run the TUI from this folder to load it.
/home/<username>/.config/slumber/config.yml
Global theme, editor, and pager settings. History cache sits beside it. Exact keys may vary by release.
/Users/<username>/projects/myapi/slumber.yml
Same project file model on Mac and Windows. Paths inside use forward slashes on all platforms.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share Slumber requests?
Commit the collection yml to the repo. Profiles, recipes, and chains travel as text. Teammates run the same file with their own profile selected.
Can I migrate from Insomnia?
Import from Insomnia and other formats with the import command. It writes a native collection file you then commit.
