Where Does Stable Diffusion WebUI Keep Models?
AUTOMATIC1111 WebUI keeps checkpoints in models Stable-Diffusion and generations in outputs, all inside its install folder.
Last updated
Stable Diffusion WebUI is portable. Everything hangs off the folder you cloned: checkpoints in models Stable-Diffusion, LoRAs and embeddings beside them, extensions in extensions, and generations in outputs. Move the folder and the whole setup travels.
UI tweaks persist in ui-config.json plus config.json created on first run. Command flags live in webui-user scripts. There is no registry or AppData footprint to chase, which makes multi copy installs trivial as long as Python and git exist.
Where Stable Diffusion WebUI stores this, by platform
[Install]\stable-diffusion-webui\models\Stable-Diffusion
Outputs in [Install]\stable-diffusion-webui\outputs. Launch with webui-user.bat. Checkpoints, VAEs, LoRAs, and upscalers each get model subfolders. Back up outputs plus any custom models.
~/stable-diffusion-webui/models/Stable-Diffusion
Launch with webui.sh after setting python_cmd in webui-user.sh. Same interior as Windows. Clone wherever suits; the tree is self contained by design.
Frequently asked questions
Where do generations save in Stable Diffusion WebUI?
In the outputs folder under the install root, grouped by txt2img, img2img, and extras. PNG info embeds prompts, so keep originals for the Read Generation Parameters button.
How do I move WebUI to another drive?
Copy the entire stable-diffusion-webui folder with the app stopped. Nothing in AppData or registry points back, so launch from the new spot and verify one generation.
