Where Does S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Store Mods?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 loads pak mods from a ~mods folder you create inside Content Paks. The tilde is mandatory, not decoration.

The Zone mod scene runs on Unreal pak files, and the game reads them from exactly one community folder. Create a folder named ~mods, tilde included, inside Content Paks under the game install. Drop downloaded pak files there and launch normally. No manager required for basic pak mods.
Steam and Game Pass installs hide the game folder in different places, but the relative path from the game root is identical. Reach it through Steam's browse local files or the Xbox app's manage files view. Back up your saves before modding, since balance and content mods can strand a playthrough when removed mid run.
Where S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 stores this, by platform
[Steam]\steamapps\common\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods
Create the ~mods folder here yourself, tilde included, and drop pak files inside. Reach the game folder via Steam library management. Game Pass installs need the Xbox app file browser for the same relative path.
Frequently asked questions
My mod does not load. What should I check?
Three suspects in order: the folder lacks the tilde, the pak sits in an extra subfolder the mod did not intend, or a game patch bumped the engine version past what the mod supports. Fix the first two, then check the mod page for an update.
Any load order or update advice?
Keep one subfolder per mod inside ~mods so you can toggle by renaming. Update day means disabling everything first, then re enabling one at a time. Saves made with gameplay mods can refuse to load once the mod is gone.
