Where Does the Station App Store Data?
Station keeps its Electron profile and app database in the standard OS data dir on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Last updated
Station is an Electron work hub for grouped web services. Its profile sits in the standard app data folder on each desktop OS, with a db subfolder holding session state and layout. The same structure appears on Windows, Mac and Linux, so guides transfer across systems once the base path is swapped.
The db folder is the part worth keeping. Zip it while Station is fully closed to make a backup, and leave it alone while the app runs or the embedded files can end half written. Deleting the whole Station folder resets the app. Layout and sessions rebuild on next launch, then each service asks for login again.
Where Station stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Station
Profile with db subfolder. Zip the db dir to back up, delete the whole folder to reset. Re login to services after.
~/Library/Application Support/Station
Mac profile equivalent. Reset with rm -rf while Station is closed. Layout and sessions rebuild on next launch.
~/.config/Station
Linux profile under XDG config home. Same db layout inside. Back up the db folder before distro hopping.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up or reset Station?
Zip the db subfolder with Station closed and keep it as backup. To reset, delete the whole Station folder listed below and relaunch. You sign back into every service afterwards.
Does copying the Station folder move my logins?
No. Services store OAuth tokens server side per service. The local db holds session state and layout. Fresh logins on the new machine pull everything back.
