Temtem keeps a single savegame.dat in LocalLow under a Crema folder, with settings.dat and graphics.dat beside it. Your tamer, squad and items live on Crema servers, so the local file holds client state rather than the character itself.
That split decides what backups achieve. Copying savegame.dat preserves local preferences across reinstalls, but a lost account still needs Crema support, not a file restore. Steam Cloud covers the local files. Settings also mirror into the registry under the Crema key.
