Where Does TextNow Store Messages and Media?
TextNow syncs messages to your account while media cache and settings sit in private app storage.
Last updated
TextNow keeps conversations on its servers tied to your number, so reinstalling restores message history on login. What stays on the phone is media cache, downloads and app settings.
That split decides what a reinstall costs. Chats return, but downloaded attachments and custom settings do not. Export anything saved in the app before wiping.
Where TextNow stores this, by platform
/data/data/com.enflick.android.TextNow
Private storage with cache and settings. Verify the package on the Play Store listing if your build differs. Messages resync from the account on next login.
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
Per install container path. An encrypted device backup preserves settings. Message history downloads from the account regardless.
Frequently asked questions
will reinstalling textnow delete my messages
No. Conversations sync from your TextNow account on login. Only cached media and local settings are lost with the reinstall.
where are textnow downloaded photos stored
Files you saved explicitly go to shared storage galleries. Streamed images inside chats live in private cache and vanish on reinstall.
