Where Does Mumla Store Servers and Identity?

Mumla keeps Mumble bookmarks and certificates in its iOS container, while voice itself is never recorded.

Last updated

Mumla carries the Mumble protocol to iOS, and like every voice client it stores connection details rather than conversations. Server bookmarks, usernames and certificates persist; audio does not.

iOS seals that data inside the app container, so migration means re-entering servers or restoring a full device backup. Deleting the app wipes bookmarks along with it, with no file to rescue afterward.

Where Mumla stores this, by platform

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Library/Preferences

Container path with a per install guid, so browse via backup tooling rather than typing it. Server favorites and identity live here. A device backup preserves them; reinstalling without one does not.

Frequently asked questions

how do i move mumla servers to a new iphone

Restore from an encrypted device backup, which carries app containers across. Without a backup, re-add each server by hand and reimport your certificate.

will deleting mumla delete my mumble certificate

Yes, the identity goes with the app container. Export or screenshot certificate details first if the server uses them to recognize you as an admin.
