Where Are The Precinct Save Files Located?
The Precinct saves into LocalLow under a Fallen Tree Games Ltd folder, in a SaveGame_Steam tree with the scene map and player profile.

The Precinct hides in an unusually named company folder. Unity writes to LocalLow, and here the company string is Fallen Tree Games Ltd with the Ltd included. Miss that suffix and you will never find the saves.
Inside sits SaveGame_Steam with the scene map and a profile folder holding PlayerProfile.dat.bson. Saves are auto-only at mission ends and shift ends. Back up the company folder whole, and give each Windows user their own account to dodge the shared-folder collision.
Where The Precinct stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Fallen Tree Games Ltd\The Precinct\SaveGame_Steam
SceneMap_default is progress and Profile PlayerProfile.dat.bson is the officer record. The Fallen Tree Games Ltd company name with Ltd is literal. Back up the company folder whole with the game closed.
<SteamLibrary>/steamapps/compatdata/490110/pfx/
Steam Play prefix for App ID 490110. The LocalLow tree is mirrored inside the prefix drive. Same single-folder behavior applies, so separate Deck user profiles keep separate saves.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up The Precinct saves?
Copy the whole %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Fallen Tree Games Ltd\The Precinct folder with the game closed. The SceneMap_default file is progress and PlayerProfile.dat.bson is your officer record. Generic guides pointing at a plain The Precinct SaveGames folder are wrong for this title.
Can I manually save in The Precinct?
You cannot. The game writes one auto-save on mission completion and End Shift only. There is no manual slot to copy mid-mission. Plan around shift ends if you want a clean stopping point.
Two Steam accounts share my PC. What happens to saves?
They collide. Both accounts share one Windows-user LocalLow folder, so the second login overwrites the first. Community batch files rename SaveGame_Steam per account as a workaround. Separate Windows users avoid the problem entirely.
