Where Does the TK-App Store Data?

The Techniker Krankenkasse app keeps health mailbox and ePA links in private storage on Android and iOS.

Last updated

The Techniker Krankenkasse app ships under two close IDs. Android uses the form without a hyphen, while iOS adds one, and searches that assume identical strings miss one side. Private storage on each platform holds login session, mailbox cache and the device binding, with iOS adding a per install GUID container on top.

Letters, bonus entries and ePA links sync from TK servers after login with the health card or app credentials, so local files cache rather than own the record. Before a device wipe, export sick notes and bonus proofs as PDF from inside the app. After reinstall, sign back in to pull the mailbox down again.

Where TK-App stores this, by platform

Android
/data/data/de.tk.tkapp

Private session and mailbox cache for the verified TK Android package. Documents sync from TK servers after login.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents

GUID container for bundle de.tk.tk-app (App Store ID 1163694230). Note the hyphen difference from Android.

Frequently asked questions

Do TK documents survive reinstall?

No. Letters, bonus program and ePA references sync from TK servers after login with health card or app credentials. Local data holds session and cached documents only.

Why do TK package names differ on Android and iOS?

Android uses de.tk.tkapp while iOS uses de.tk.tk-app with a hyphen. Both are official Techniker IDs. The hyphen trips up searches that assume identical strings.
