Where Are Tomb Raider 2013 Save Files Located?

Tomb Raider 2013 saves per store version, with settings in the registry and saves that never cross platforms.

Last updated

The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot saves differently per store. Steam uses its userdata cloud folder, Epic and GOG use Documents folders, and settings live in a Crystal Dynamics registry key on Windows.

The sharp edge is cross-platform. Saves are not compatible between Windows and the Feral Mac and Linux ports, full stop. Moving machines within the same store is a folder copy; moving platforms means starting over. Check the store folder matching your copy before assuming progress transferred.

Where Tomb Raider stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[SteamID]\203160\remote

Steam cloud saves (AppID 203160, up to 100 MB). The mirror to copy for transfers between PCs on the Steam build.

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Tomb Raider\[UserID]

Epic and GOG builds save here instead, one folder per user ID (Epic) or a shared folder (GOG). OneDrive-synced Documents roams these automatically.

Windows
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider

Graphics and key settings, not progress. Voice language and multi-core tweaks live here as registry values.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Feral Interactive/Tomb Raider/

Feral Mac port saves here. Incompatible with Windows saves, so cross-platform moves are not possible.

Linux
~/.local/share/feral-interactive/Tomb Raider/

Feral Linux port following XDG conventions. Same incompatibility with Windows saves applies.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move my PC save to the Mac version?

No. Windows saves do not work on the Mac or Linux builds and the reverse. Each platform keeps its own incompatible format, so conversions need third-party tools or not at all.
