Where Does Township Store Your Town and Progress?
Township's town lives on Playrix servers once an account is connected. Offline play caches progress locally and syncs when the connection returns.

Township predates the always-online era of mobile games and still plays like it: farming, factories, and match-3 puzzles all work without a connection. The town, however, belongs to your account. Connected to a Playrix account or Facebook, everything syncs to Playrix servers and survives a new phone. Play as a guest, and the only copy of a town built over years sits in the app's storage on that one device.
Offline sessions are the interesting middle ground. The game writes progress locally while it cannot reach the servers, then merges it once a connection returns. That works well, but it makes the local folder a live working copy rather than a cache, so it is worth leaving alone until offline progress has definitely synced.
Where Township stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.playrix.township
Cached graphics and audio, plus local working state for offline sessions. File managers on Android 11 and newer cannot open it. Clearing it while offline, before a sync, can cost recent progress.
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
Per-install container with a GUID that changes each reinstall, jailbreak needed to browse it. Full backups copy it, but connecting the Playrix account is the reliable way to carry a town across devices.
Frequently asked questions
How do I transfer my Township town to a new phone?
Connect the game to a Playrix account or Facebook on the old phone first, then log into the same account on the new device and the town downloads from the servers. Guest towns have no such path and stay on the old phone.
Is Township progress stored on the phone or on Playrix servers?
Both, depending on the account state. A connected town is server data and moves freely. A guest town lives only in app storage. An offline session keeps progress local until the next connection, when it syncs up.
Why does my Township folder keep growing?
Seasonal events, decorations, and audio accumulate in the cache over time, and long-lived towns commonly carry several gigabytes. Clearing the cache is safe once you are connected and synced, since the game restores what it needs.
