Where Does TwistedWave Store Presets and Sessions?
TwistedWave preferences, presets and crash recovery Sessions on Mac and Windows, including App Store variants.
Last updated
TwistedWave documents its own data locations in the official FAQ, refreshingly. Preferences and presets sit in Application Support under TwistedWave, with separate container roots per App Store edition. A Sessions subfolder holds crash recovery audio.
Edition matching matters. Direct, App Store, 365 and Lite builds each use their own root, so migrations must pair like with like. The Help menu opens the correct folder for the running copy.
Where TwistedWave stores this, by platform
~/Library/Application Support/TwistedWave
Preferences, presets and the Sessions recovery folder. App Store builds use Containers/com.twistedwave.* variants instead; check Help, Open Application Support to confirm yours. Library stays hidden, so use Go to Folder or hold Option in the Go menu.
%APPDATA%\TwistedWave
Same role as the Mac folder for prefs and sessions. Confirm the exact root in your install if migrating, since Windows and Mac layouts mirror each other but drive letters never match.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move TwistedWave presets to a new Mac?
Copy the Application Support TwistedWave folder to the matching spot on the new Mac with the app closed. Run once first so the folder exists, and empty it before filling. App Store and direct editions use different roots, so match them.
TwistedWave crashed, where is my unsaved audio?
Look in the Sessions subfolder of the same root before relaunching. Unsaved work often survives there after force quits, and support can sometimes rebuild from it.
Which folder does my TwistedWave edition use?
Through Help, Open Application Support in the main menu, which jumps straight to the right folder for your edition. No memorization needed; the menu knows which variant you run.
