Where Does Ubisoft Connect Store Save Games?

Where Ubisoft Connect keeps per game saves by numeric ID under savegames, and how cloud conflicts resolve.

Last updated

Ubisoft Connect stores saves in savegames under its install folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher), filed by account ID then numeric game ID. Steam bought Ubisoft titles add Documents variants per game, but Connect native builds all funnel through savegames.

Cloud sync prompts on conflict (local vs cloud), and the choice overwrites the loser permanently. Admin rights matter here: the client needs write access under Program Files, and locked down accounts produce the classic sync failure loop that only manual backups escape.

Where Ubisoft Connect stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\[AccountID]\[GameID]

Right-click the Connect shortcut > Open file location, then open savegames. Back up the numeric game folder before any reinstall or conflict choice. Cloud toggle lives in Settings > General.

Frequently asked questions

Cloud sync broke my save. How do I force the good copy?

Back the game folder up, rename it with _old, and launch: the client fetches the cloud copy into a fresh folder if one exists. Compare before deleting anything. When prompted between local and cloud, pick deliberately: the loser is overwritten.

How do I tell which numeric folder is my game?

Open candidate folders and look for recognizable extensions (.save, game initials in filenames). Community lists map IDs to titles (e.g. 1771 Valhalla, 274 Watch Dogs). When stuck, sort by modified date: your recent game tops the list.
