Where Are Unravel Save Files Located?

Where Unravel keeps its profile and settings files on PC, and how the EA ID in the filename affects sharing.

Last updated

Unravel keeps progress in profile files directly under its LocalAppData folder. The filename embeds the EA account ID, so each login writes its own pair of files. Settings ride along in a sibling file with the same numbering.

Steam and EA App builds share this path since the game requires an EA login either way. There is no nested SaveGames tree. Copying the whole Unravel folder with the game closed moves progress and options together. Yarny collectibles and level gates share the same profile file, so nothing extra needs hunting.

Where Unravel stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Unravel

Holds profile progress files plus settings files, each tagged with the EA account ID. Same path for Steam and EA App builds. Copy the whole folder for backup.

Frequently asked questions

Can I share my Unravel save with a friend?

Copy the profile file, then rename the numeric part to match the friend EA account ID. The number in the filename ties progress to one EA identity. Settings files use the same scheme, so rename those too when moving both.

Does Steam Cloud back up Unravel saves?

Cloud duties sit with the EA App rather than Steam userdata for AppID 1225560. Back up the LocalAppData Unravel folder by hand before reinstalls. The folder returns on next launch with fresh defaults when deleted.
