Where Are VALORANT Config Files Located?
VALORANT stores its configuration in %LOCALAPPDATA%\VALORANT\Saved\Config. Riot's own reset guide starts in that folder, so copy it first.
Last updated
VALORANT writes its configuration to your local app data folder, not to Program Files and not to the install directory. Press Win+R, type %LOCALAPPDATA%, then open VALORANT, Saved, Config.
Riot's own support article runs its reset procedure from this folder: close VALORANT and the Riot Client, copy the files out if you want your settings back later, then delete what is inside. Riot's steps have you delete files again after the first relaunch, since some come back. VALORANT ships for Windows only, so there is no macOS or Linux path to hunt for.
Where VALORANT stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\VALORANT\Saved\Config
Riot's official reset instructions use exactly this path: Win+R, %LOCALAPPDATA%, then VALORANT > Saved > Config. Copy the files out before deleting anything, since the procedure empties the folder.
Frequently asked questions
Where are my VALORANT crosshair and sensitivity settings?
Riot does not publish file names for them. Its reset guide treats Saved\Config as your whole configuration, so back up and restore the folder as one unit rather than hunting for a single file inside it.
Do I need to close VALORANT before editing these files?
Yes. Riot's steps start with closing the game and the Riot Client, then deleting files that reappear on relaunch. Edit while it runs and you get a half-written config and the reset you were trying to avoid.
Is there a VALORANT config folder on Mac or Linux?
No. VALORANT has no native macOS or Linux build. The Riot Client, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store versions are all Windows only, and they all share this one Config path.
