Where Are Valorant Screenshots Stored?

Valorant screenshots folder on Windows, the Documents path for F9 captures plus Print Screen behavior.

Last updated

Valorant has no Steam screenshot manager to fall back on, since it runs through the Riot client. In game captures taken with F9 land in Documents/VALORANT/Screenshots. The folder appears after your first capture.

Windows keys behave differently. Print Screen and Win Shift S follow Windows rules and land in Pictures or the clipboard. If Documents looks empty, you probably used a Windows shortcut instead of F9. Settings sit beside captures in the same tree. Fresh installs may need one new capture to rebuild folders.

Where Valorant stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\VALORANT\Screenshots

F9 captures go here. Windows shortcuts land in Pictures instead. The folder is created on first capture, so take one shot before hunting for it.

Frequently asked questions

Which key takes a Valorant screenshot?

Press F9 during play for the built in capture. Files land in Documents/VALORANT/Screenshots. Windows Print Screen goes to Pictures instead, which is why the two methods seem to disagree.

How do I back up my screenshots?

Copy Documents/VALORANT elsewhere with the game closed. That tree holds captures and local settings side by side. Riot servers keep match progress, so this backup covers files only.
