Where Are Vampyr Save Files Located?
Where Vampyr hides its save game slots under the AVGame folder name on PC, plus automatic backups.
Last updated
Vampyr saves at %LOCALAPPDATA%\AVGame\Saved\SaveGames. AVGame is the internal project name, which is why every search for the game title in AppData fails and every guide pastes the same path.
Once the codename is known, the layout is ordinary Unreal: slots in SaveGames, settings in Config, automatic backups beside the live files. Copy the AVGame tree with the game closed and London moves with you, consequences included. The Store build nests the same tail under its package folder.
Where Vampyr stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\AVGame\Saved\SaveGames
Save slots plus automatic backups here; search for AVGame, not Vampyr. Microsoft Store builds use the same tail under LocalCache in their package folder. Steam Cloud syncs the desktop tree when enabled.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/427290/pfx/.../AVGame/Saved/SaveGames
Same AVGame tree inside the Proton prefix for app 427290. Copy the Windows contents straight across. If two AVGame folders appear across prefixes, the one with recent timestamps is live.
Frequently asked questions
why is there no vampyr folder in appdata
Search AppData for AVGame, the internal Unreal project name Dontnod used. The store title appears nowhere in the path. Paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\AVGame into Explorer to jump straight there. Microsoft Store builds nest the same tree under their package folder.
how do i back up vampyr saves
Copy %LOCALAPPDATA%\AVGame\Saved\SaveGames to the same path with the game closed. The game also keeps automatic backups beside the live saves, which is the first restore point when a district state corrupts. Steam Cloud may mirror the folder too.
where is the vampyr config file
In Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor as standard UE INI files. Edit while closed. These cover graphics and input; the save slots themselves are untouched by config resets, so a graphics wipe never costs progress.
