Where Does Vinyl Music Player Store Playlists and Music?
Vinyl Music Player reads songs from shared Music folders and keeps playlists and stats in private app storage. Both sides covered.

Vinyl Music Player splits duties like most Android players. Audio files live in shared storage (Music, Downloads, or wherever you put them) where any app can scan them. Playlists, play counts, and settings live in a private database only Vinyl can open.
Plan migrations around that split. Music moves as files. Playlists move as exported m3u files, since the private database cannot be copied without root and would not import cleanly anyway. Most forks include the export option in the playlist menu.
Where Vinyl Music stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Music
Songs live here or in Downloads; rescan the library after copying. Playlists and settings sit in the private database (package name varies by fork); export playlists to m3u for migration.
Frequently asked questions
How do I keep my playlists on a new phone?
Export each playlist to m3u from inside the app, copy the files plus the Music folder to the new phone, then import. Private-database playlists do not transfer by copying folders.
Vinyl shows no songs. Where should music files go?
Grant the music or media permission and trigger a library rescan in settings. Files outside scanned folders (ringtones, app caches) stay hidden by design.
