Where Does WebCatalog Install Apps and Data?
Where WebCatalog installs desktop apps and keeps their session data.
Last updated
WebCatalog installs each desktop app as its own program under a WebCatalogApps folder (Local Programs on Windows). Running them lists from that directory, which is why the folder doubles as the install inventory.
Session data per app lives separately: legacy builds used one folder per app name in Roaming AppData, newer engine builds use id based folders under a WebCatalog data tree. Match folders to apps by launch date when migrating.
Where WebCatalog stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\WebCatalogApps\
Inventory of installed desktop apps, one folder each. Shortcuts in Start Menu and Desktop point here. Reinstall from WebCatalog rather than copying when moving machines.
~/Library/Application Support/WebCatalog/
Per-app sessions and engine data. Older installs used one folder per app name here, newer ones use id based folders under the WebCatalog tree. Cloud backup covers apps and settings, never website logins.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move WebCatalog apps to a new PC?
Reinstall the apps from WebCatalog on the new machine and sign in again. Copying the install folders alone misses per-app session data, and newer engine versions renamed storage to id based folders anyway.
Does WebCatalog sync my logins across devices?
Turn on cloud backup and sync in WebCatalog. Apps, spaces, bookmarks and settings sync, but website sessions and logins always stay local per device by design.
