Whereby is link first. Rooms live on the web under your account. Mobile apps hold login, recent rooms, and cache. Recordings are cloud based when turned on per room. Local downloads are only what you explicitly saved.
That keeps phone use tiny. Android may show a Whereby folder under Android data for cache on some builds. iPhone keeps it in the app container. For keepsakes, download cloud recordings from the room page before retention ends. Phone reinstall plus sign in restores recents without touching recordings.

In your Whereby cloud account for cloud recordings when enabled, and in phone storage for files you saved by hand. Meeting links themselves are just URLs with no local state. Download cloud recordings before expiry, since the phone never holds the full meeting.
Does Whereby copy my shared files into the app?
No. Whereby runs in browser and mobile shells without duplicating your files. Shared docs stay where they were. The apps keep login, recents, and cache privately. Clearing cache is safe. Clearing data logs out but leaves cloud recordings intact.
