Where Does Whisparr Store Config and Database?

Where Whisparr keeps its appdata folder, config.xml and databases.

Last updated

Whisparr follows Servarr conventions: one appdata directory with config.xml for ports and auth plus whisparr.db SQLite files for main and log data. Docker mounts it at /config; Windows uses ProgramData.

Env vars override any config.xml entry for container setups. Multiple instances need separate data dirs via -data flags. Back up the whole appdata tree, since the database plus config travel as a unit.

Where Whisparr stores this, by platform

Linux
<whisparr config>/whisparr.db

Servarr appdata root with config.xml and SQLite databases. Docker mounts it at /config; keep it on local disk. Reset auth by editing config.xml while stopped.

Windows
C:\ProgramData\Whisparr\

Same appdata role under ProgramData on Windows. Point extra instances at their own dirs with -data flags. Back up the entire folder, database plus config together.

Frequently asked questions

I forgot my Whisparr password. How do I reset it?

Edit config.xml in the appdata dir while stopped to flip authentication off, then restart and set a new login. The Servarr wiki documents this exact recovery for every *arr app.

Can the Whisparr database live on a NAS share?

Keep the /config mount on local disk, never NFS or SMB. SQLite corrupts over network shares, which the wiki calls out as a primary database killer.
