Where Does WildDuck Store Config and Mail?

WildDuck mail server config on Linux plus MongoDB and Redis backed message store.

Last updated

WildDuck keeps app config in /opt/wildduck/config with wildduck.toml at the center. Messages live in MongoDB GridFS with Redis for sessions.

There is no Maildir to copy. Backing up means dumping Mongo plus copying config. Attachments ride along inside the database by design.

Where WildDuck stores this, by platform

Linux
/opt/wildduck/config/

wildduck.toml plus defaults and certs references. Data itself sits in MongoDB (mongodump for backup) with Redis for ephemeral state. Exact paths follow your deploy guide.

Frequently asked questions

Where is wildduck.toml?

In /opt/wildduck/config on standard installs. That file points at Mongo, Redis and zones. Keep it versioned; reinstalls ask for the same secrets.

Where is WildDuck mail stored?

Inside MongoDB rather than Maildir files. Dump the database on schedule. Config alone restores servers without messages.
