Dynamic Lighting (Windows 11 23H2 and later) controls RGB keyboards, mice and other LampArray devices from Settings. It replaces per vendor apps for basic brightness, colors and effects. Compatible hardware appears as cards at the top of the page.
Global toggles sit below the device cards. Foreground apps can take over lighting unless you change priority. If the page is missing, update Windows first since the feature needs a recent build.

Toggle Use Dynamic Lighting on my devices here. Pick effects like Solid, Breathing or Rainbow per device or globally. Check Background light control when vendor software fights Windows.

Why does my vendor RGB app override Windows?
Open Background light control in the same Settings page and drag Dynamic Lighting Background Controller to the top. Vendor apps often outrank Windows and swallow effects.
Where are Dynamic Lighting settings stored?
They live in Settings, backed by per device HID LampArray state rather than a file you edit. Use the Settings page for brightness, effects and per device overrides. Unplugging to another USB port can register the same hardware as a new device.
