Where Is Windows HDR Calibration Data Stored?
Windows HDR calibration data location, the calibration app profiles and per display settings.
Last updated
Windows stores HDR calibration profiles per display through the HDR Calibration app. Settings pages under Display expose brightness, battery and video toggles. Profiles follow the monitor, not the user.
Moving a cable to another port can register a new display entry and orphan the old profile. Recalibrate rather than copying files. The Store app remains the tool for fresh profiles.
Where Windows stores this, by platform
Settings > Display > HDR
Per display HDR toggles and calibration launch live here. Profiles bind to the display connection, so recheck after dock or cable changes.
Frequently asked questions
Why does HDR look washed out after moving monitors?
Run the Windows HDR Calibration app again for that display. Profiles bind per display, so swapping ports or monitors invalidates the old one. Keep the app installed for reruns.
Where do I turn HDR on per display?
Open Settings, Display, then the HDR page for that monitor. Toggle Play streaming HDR video and Use HDR as needed. Calibrate once per display with room lighting you actually use.
