Where Does Wirecast Save Recordings and Settings?
Wirecast prefs on Windows and macOS, plus where ISO recordings and .wcst documents land by default.
Last updated
Wirecast stores preferences in the usual per OS app data folder under Telestream. Project documents (.wcst) live wherever you save them, often Documents.
Recordings default to the Movies folder but the Output Settings dialog can point anywhere. Check there first when disk fills. Prefs backup helps when moving studios between machines.
Where Wirecast stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Telestream\Wirecast\
Prefs, shot templates and license state. Recordings default under Videos or the path set in Output > Record To Disk. Project .wcst files live in Documents unless you moved them.
~/Library/Application Support/Telestream/Wirecast/
Same role as Windows AppData. Recordings default to ~/Movies/Wirecast Output but follow Output Settings when changed. Copy .wcst documents separately; prefs alone do not include media.
Frequently asked questions
Where are my Wirecast recordings?
Open Output > Output Settings > Record To Disk and read the path. Defaults point at Movies or Videos, but any admin can change it per document. The .wcst file never contains video, only the layout.
How do I move Wirecast to a new Mac?
Copy the Application Support Telestream Wirecast folder plus your .wcst documents and media. Reenter the serial, then relink any missing ISO files. Test one record before showtime.
