Where Does Yomu Store Manga and Downloads?
Yomu manga library, offline chapters and iCloud sync across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Last updated
Yomu (the Mobile Alchemy manga reader, 2026) keeps its library, reading progress, bookmarks, history and themes in app private storage, synced end to end through iCloud with no Yomu account. Local CBZ, CBR, EPUB and PDF files plus downloaded chapters read fully offline.
Servers stay remote. Komga, Kavita, Jellyfin and OPDS catalogs are browsed in place with read state syncing back, so the server remains the master copy. Extension sources from Tachiyomi repos and tracker links (AniList, MyAnimeList, Kitsu, MangaUpdates) live inside the same iCloud synced store. Free accounts cap the library at 3 manga; Premium backup and restore exports a portable file.
Where Yomu stores this, by platform
App sandbox and iCloud (backup via in-app export)
Library, downloads, sources and tracker auth sync across iPhone and iPad. Use the one tap backup for moves, and Wi-Fi transfer for local files between devices. Not the older Yomu EBook Reader: different app, same name.
App sandbox and iCloud (Mac App Store build)
Same iCloud store as iOS, so chapters started on the train finish on the Mac. Server credentials re-authenticate per device. Keep both apps updated for Komga REST compatibility.
Frequently asked questions
how do I move Yomu to a new iPhone
Sign into the same Apple ID and let iCloud sync restore the library, or run the in-app backup and restore it on the new phone. Re-add Komga or Kavita servers and confirm tracker logins, then redownload offline chapters.
are Yomu downloads stored as files I can copy
No. Chapters download into the app sandbox for offline reading and iCloud syncs progress, not the files. Keep the server (Komga, Kavita, OPDS) as the archive. Local CBZ files you imported stay available through Files sharing.
