Where Does AdiIRC Store Settings and Logs?

AdiIRC portable settings in its install folder, when AppData gets used instead, and the Logs subfolder layout.

Last updated

AdiIRC is portable first. By default it keeps config.ini, servers.ini and the Logs folder right beside its executable, so the whole client moves machines on a USB stick with nothing left behind. That surprises people hunting through AppData.

The installer offers a normal mode that redirects user files to AppData instead, which is the only setup where that tree matters. Check beside the exe first: if config.ini sits there, you run portable and AppData stays empty. Logs accumulate per network and channel inside Logs, worth pruning on old installs.

Where AdiIRC stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files\AdiIRC\config.ini

Example with the default install path; portable installs keep config.ini, servers.ini and Logs beside the exe wherever it lives. Normal mode installs use %appdata%\AdiIRC for the same files instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is AdiIRC portable?

Yes by default. Settings and logs live next to the executable, so copying the AdiIRC folder to another PC or stick carries everything. Only the installer normal mode redirects files to AppData.

How do I move AdiIRC to another computer?

Close it and copy the whole AdiIRC folder, Logs included. Servers, scripts and window layouts travel together. Reinstalling and pointing at the copied folder works identically.
