Where Does Beekeeper Studio Store Connections?
Beekeeper Studio stores connections and queries in a single app.db SQLite file inside the OS app-data folder.
Last updated
Beekeeper Studio keeps everything in one SQLite database called app.db. It sits in the OS-provided userData folder: %APPDATA%\beekeeper-studio on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/Beekeeper Studio on macOS, ~/.config/beekeeper-studio on Linux. Connections, saved queries, and settings all live in that one file.
Single-file storage makes backup trivial and surgery possible. Copy app.db with the app closed and you have cloned your whole workspace. You can even open app.db in Beekeeper itself (the Help menu offers this) and fix a row like a saved connection port directly.
Where Beekeeper Studio stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\beekeeper-studio\app.db
SQLite file with connections, queries, and settings. user.config.ini sits alongside for extra preferences. Copy both with the app closed.
~/Library/Application Support/Beekeeper Studio/app.db
Folder name uses a capital S and a space, unlike the lowercase Linux/Windows variants. Use Go to Folder in Finder to reach it.
~/.config/beekeeper-studio/app.db
Same single-file layout. The Help menu can open this database inside Beekeeper itself for direct fixes.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up my Beekeeper connections?
Close Beekeeper and copy app.db somewhere safe. Restoring is the reverse: quit, swap the file back, relaunch. The user.config.ini beside it holds extra preferences worth copying too.
My saved port keeps resetting. Can I fix it in the file?
Yes. Open app.db and edit the port in the saved_connection table, then restart. This was the community workaround for a bug where the UI would not persist the port.
