Where Does Bliss OS Store Android Data?

Bliss OS Android-x86 keeps its data image beside the install on the Windows disk plus GRUB entries on ESP.

Last updated

Bliss OS installs Android-x86 beside Windows with a data image holding the whole /data tree. Wubi style setups drop C:/android-x86 with system files plus data.img. EFI installs add GRUB under the ESP. The image is the documentable layer, since apps inside use standard Android private dirs. That image is what to back up.

Inside Bliss, apps use standard Android private dirs. Those are not Bliss documented paths. The documentable layer is the image plus bootloader. NTFS hosts images. Ext4 partitions boot natively with GRUB2. Back up data.img with Bliss fully shut down, and check the GRUB entry when boot options go missing.

Where Bliss OS stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\android-x86\data.img

Android data partition image beside the Windows install. Holds the entire /data tree. Back it up with Bliss shut down; grows need offline resize.

Frequently asked questions

How do I give Bliss OS more data space?

Grow the data.img size slider in the Windows installer before first boot. Later grows need manual resize from a live Linux with e2fsck plus resize2fs. Back up data.img with Bliss fully shut down.

Bliss OS vanished from boot options. Where do I look?

Mount the ESP and check BOOT/grub/grub.cfg for the SRC entry pointing at /AndroidOS with system.sfs, kernel and initrd. Secure Boot off and an EasyUEFI entry complete the chain.
