Where Does BOTIM Store Chats and Media?

BOTIM keeps chats in the cloud while photos, videos, and voice notes pile up in gallery and app storage.

Last updated

BOTIM chats sync through your account, so the message history itself needs no local backup. What eats your storage is everything around the messages: auto-downloaded photos, videos, and voice notes.

Photos and videos land in the gallery when auto-save is on, in an album of their own. Voice notes and cache stay inside the app's private storage, visible only as a growing number in system settings. Clearing cache drops the temp weight and leaves chats untouched.

Where BOTIM stores this, by platform

Android
Gallery (BOTIM album); Settings > Apps > BOTIM (cache)

Photos and videos auto-save here when enabled. Disable auto-download in BOTIM's data settings to keep the gallery clean on limited phones.

iOS
Photos app (saved media); in-app chats

Same split: account holds the chats, the phone holds the media. Use iPhone Storage > BOTIM > Offload App to reclaim cache without losing the gallery copies.

Frequently asked questions

How do I stop BOTIM filling my gallery?

Turn off auto-download for mobile data in BOTIM's storage settings. Media then waits for Wi-Fi or a manual tap, which keeps both the gallery and the data plan lean.

Do I lose chats if I reinstall BOTIM?

Uninstalling clears the app-private database while the cloud keeps the messages. Reinstall and log in, and chats return minus anything you never saved to the gallery.
