Where Does Tango Store Chats and Media?
Tango stores chats and follows server-side while photos, videos, and gifts cache inside app storage.
Last updated
Tango keeps your account, follows, and message history on its servers. The gigabytes that vanish from your phone belong to cached streams, stickers, and auto-saved media sitting in app-private storage.
Photos and videos you choose to keep land in the gallery like any other download. Everything else is cache with a fancy name. Purging it through system app settings drops the storage number without touching your account, follows, or saved media.
Where Tango stores this, by platform
Gallery (saved media); Settings > Apps > Tango (cache)
Media cache and offline bits live here, invisible to file managers. Clear cache in Settings > Apps > Tango to reclaim space. Saved photos and videos sit separately in the gallery.
Photos app (saved media); in-app cache
Same server-side account with local cache. Offload the app through iPhone Storage to drop cache while keeping documents and gallery saves intact.
Frequently asked questions
Do I lose my follows if I reinstall Tango?
Log back in and follows plus message history return from the server. Anything saved to the gallery stays too. Only unsaved drafts and cache die with the uninstall.
How do I free space without losing saved videos?
Saved photos and videos are already in the gallery, so they are safe. Clear cache first and check the freed space before touching anything that deletes downloads.
