Where Does Colibri Store Settings and Playlists?

Colibri Mac prefs, playlist file and sandbox bookmarks with no media library.

Last updated

Colibri deliberately keeps no media library. Your FLAC, DSD, MQA and tracker files stay in Finder folders. The app remembers three small things: preferences, the current playlist (a list of sandbox permission links, not the audio) and the sandbox bookmarks macOS needs to reopen those files.

That design explains every reset path in the FAQ. A slow start or stuck resolving bookmarks means pruning dead entries in Sandbox Manager or deleting the two JSON files for a clean slate. A full settings wipe is one plist in the Containers prefs folder plus a restart without launching first.

Where Colibri stores this, by platform

macOS
~/Library/Containers/Colibri/Data/Library/Preferences/gaborhargitai.colibri.plist

Main prefs file (quit Colibri, delete, empty Trash, restart Mac without opening first). Playlist and bookmarks live at ~/Library/Containers/Colibri/Data/Documents as colibriPlaylist.json and colibriSandboxBookmarks.json.

Frequently asked questions

how do I reset Colibri settings on Mac

Quit the app, delete gaborhargitai.colibri.plist from ~/Library/Containers/Colibri/Data/Library/Preferences, empty Trash, then restart the Mac before reopening. Use Sandbox Manager Smart Cleanup first if only startup is slow.

where is the Colibri playlist file

As colibriPlaylist.json next to colibriSandboxBookmarks.json in ~/Library/Containers/Colibri/Data/Documents. Save and load .colibriPlaylist or M3U/M3U8 copies for portability. Deleting both files starts empty with no permissions retained.
