Where Does Concepts Store Drawings?
Concepts stores .concept drawings in its Files folder on iOS and Documents Concepts on Windows, with Drive backup on Android.
Last updated
Concepts mirrors its Gallery to a real folder. On iOS that is the Concepts folder in Files, either On This iPad or iCloud Drive. Move a file out of that folder and it vanishes from the Gallery but still opens by tap.
Windows uses Documents then Concepts and lets you change the root in Gallery settings. Android keeps drawings in private storage with optional Google Drive backup to MyDrive then ConceptsBackup. Deleting the iOS app wipes local work.
Where Concepts stores this, by platform
Files > On My iPad > Concepts
iCloud Drive > Concepts when cloud location is enabled. Files are .concept and editable on any device with Concepts installed. Deleting the app deletes the local Concepts folder.
C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Concepts
Change it in Gallery settings under Gallery folder location. Reinstalls leave this folder in place, but copy it to OneDrive before wiping a machine.
App-private storage (backup to Google Drive/ConceptsBackup)
Enable backup in Gallery Settings and Backup tab. Restore with long press plus Import, or drag files from a file manager into the Gallery. Backups do not sync live between devices.
Frequently asked questions
Are Concepts drawings safe if I delete the app on iPad?
Only if they sit in iCloud Drive. Local On This iPad drawings are removed with the app. Move finished work to iCloud or export .concept copies before deleting anything.
How do I back up Concepts drawings manually?
Drag drawings from the Gallery into Files or a cloud folder. They save as .concept files you can reimport later. On Android, turn on Drive backup so copies land in ConceptsBackup automatically.
